The Tech sector has been growing rapidly for a decade, but was turbo charged through the pandemic, which saw a boom in tech start-ups and scale-ups as nearly all businesses went online. Now every business is a tech business.
Today the sector in the UK is worth over $1TN, and there are more Tech Unicorns (£1b+ valued companies) in the UK than anywhere else in Europe.
Tech is the UK's biggest employing sector, with 2m vacancies in 2022. It has grown 10x in the last decade (and predicted to grow 4x again in the next), now employing around 5m people in the UK.
It's not all rainbows and unicorns, though.
100,000 vacancies go unfilled each month - businesses struggle to find the talent to fill all of the jobs available
The sector lacks diversity - Crucially without a more diverse workforce the sector will not have the number of people or diversity of thought to continue to grow at this pace
Tech grads aren't work-ready - traditional college and Uni courses cant keep up with the pace of change
…Employers are spending time, energy and money on training new staff themselves.
We will create a pipeline of diverse new talent to feed to the growing tech businesses in the South East. Working with career changers, returners to work or those who simply haven't yet found their career destination, we will deliver proactive, work-ready tech professionals right into work in the sector.
Join the revolution.
Don't just be a part of the tech revolution. Lead it!
Join the TechNative Academy today and transform the future of tech.
We want to change the narrative about who can have a successful career in Tech.
Right now:
Research shows that companies with more diverse teams are more likely to be successful, more profitable and with happier staff. We're unlocking diversity in the sector to enable it to flourish and grow.
In order for businesses to be successful they will need a diversity of thought, background and approach. We are actively seeking to work with the next generation of tech leaders who:
